Practicum (4 - Discussion Q's) - Matt B.

I’m doing my project on Kongregate.com, the “indie” gaming website. Here are my discussion questions for your consideration:

—-Are people migrating from traditional networked gaming platforms to alternative platforms such as the Internet with sites like Kongregate and apps on your phone like Aris? If so, will this trend lead to a decline in traditional platforms and a convergence of gaming hardware?

-—How is the relationship between the user of a game and its producer changing within networked gaming, especially in terms of a site like Kongregate? Is there a shift in power?

—-Is this shift, or lack thereof, a positive for the world of networked gaming?

—-Is Kongregate good or bad for up and coming game developers?
