Youtube vs Hulu

Since my practicum project is on YouTube, I've become very familiar with their videos.  I also use Hulu a lot so I was familiar with this platform.  What surprised me the most was how my experience wasn't really that different, except in terms of length.  Half of YouTube videos worth watching seem to have advertisements anyway.  The amount of advertising you get on YouTube is often determined by the quality of the content or what the source was.  Hulu on the other hand has officially licensed, high quality content where this is hard to find on YouTube.  But the experience is very similar.  You can change the size and quality of the video.  You can review it and give your opinion.  You can participate in the discussion board.  The videos will also direct you to related content.  The biggest difference is probably that Hulu feels more professional and less personal.  YouTube on the other hand feels very personal, often because the content is user created or posted.
